About Stephanie

Stephanie Sinclair is a Corbis Assignment Photographer based in Beirut, Lebanon. After receiving her B.A. in Journalism from the University of Florida, she worked for the Chicago Tribune for five years where she covered issues in the Middle East and South East Asia. Since joining Corbis, her work has appeared in Time, Newsweek, Fortune, The New York Times Magazine and Rolling Stone, among others.  In 2004, for work in Afghanistan, she was awarded the prestigious Visa D'Or at the Visa Pour L'Image festival as well as first prize in the Contemporary Issues category of World Press Photo. Sinclair's other award-winning essays have documented courthouse weddings, the death penalty, and the airline industry.  She is also the editor and publisher of the independent online magazine for women photographers, Photobetty.
