About Joseph

Joseph Ouma was born in Uganda in 1945. After studying professional photography in Germany, he took a job as press photographer with the Uganda Ministry of Information, and quickly rose in rank to Chief Photographer. A member of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain, and Chairman of the Uganda Professional Association, he has been exhibited in the National Public Gallery. In 1997, he won the National Competition for Professional Photographers in Uganda for his work “Life in Uganda”.
