About Samer

Samer Mohdad was born in Bzebdine, Lebanon in 1964. In 1988, he obtained a diploma in art photography from Liege, Brussels and beganwirking in Paris for Vu. In 1989, he was the recipient of the Nikon Award and held an exhibition called “The Other Side of War” t the Museum of Photography at Charleroi. In 1991, he received an award at the World Press Phot exhibited at the charleroi triennial, and began work on “My Arabias” by traveling to Algeria and Yemen. Throughout his years as a freelance photographer, he has received a Hachette grant, helped to jury the World Pres Photo in 1996, has exhibited and curated numerous times at the Elysee Museum and has been published in the German magazine, Du.
