About Diego

Diego Levy was born in Buenos Aires in 1973. When he was 18, he began working as a photographer for several metropolitan media. In 1996, he began his career as an active member of Clarín newspaper staff. He worked there for five years, covering a great range of events in Argentina , Chile, Cuba , USA.

In 2001 he was rewarded with the first prize of the Foundation for the New Iberoamerican Journalism, leaded by the Nobel Prize winner, Gabriel García Márquez. He won with an essay about urban violence in Buenos Aires. That year, he founded Sudacaphotos with some other colleagues.

In 2003, he was among the finalists of the Annual Conquest of the International Fund for Documentary Photography, given to essays of relevant social content by FiftyCrows organization, based in San Francisco, California.

At the beginning of 2003, he assume the position of Photography Publishing Chief in the magazine TXT until its closing, at the end of 2004. Currently, he works as a free-lance photographer.
