Yasser Alwan

About Yasser

Educated at Georgetown University, Colby College, and the Rhode Island School of Design, Yasser Alwan has worked as a freelance photographer, editor, writer, and translator, as well as a teacher.

In 1999 Alwan received the Royal Netherlands-Swiss Embassy grant to complete his project linking documentary photography to human rights issues. He has lectured at universities and museums in the United States and Egypt. Lecture titles include Documenting Human Rights in Egypt, Photography and the Invention of Reality, and Women and Photography in Egypt.
