How Are the Winners Selected?
Each year a jury of respected members from the international photography and journalism communities are selected. These judges will come to San Francisco, CA, USA, home of FiftyCrows, where they will review every application and photo essay carefully. The judges review the submissions individually in the first round of judging, then meet as a group to discuss and decide unanimously on the winners. The judging is a rewarding and intense experience which leaves an indelible mark on everyone involved.
Here are written essays from last year's judges and FiftyCrows Student Interns who assisted them.
