Lea Garfield Essay

The opportunity to participate in the whole process of this year’s documentary fund was definitely a learning experience. As far as my work, I have a better understanding of what projects evoke more human interest and concern thus funding. Being very specific in a proposal about how funding will be allocated if given a grant was another aspect that I didn’t put much thought in before. Publication and exhibition methods had to be specified in depth. I believe in the future my grant writing will be much stronger from this experience.
