FiftyCrows is proud to announce the PREMIERE EXHIBITION in our new gallery space at 49 Geary in San Francisco.

The exhibition explores the past ten years of strife in the Sudan. Featuring the works of highly-respected Magnum photographer Eli Reed, four-time Picture-of-the-Year winner Colin Finlay, and San Francisco-based documentary filmmaker and photographer Mark Brecke, the three essays focus on the horror of famine and genocide to the beauty and enduring spirit of the Sudanese people.

Why do you need to see this work? Each day people are dying in unspeakable ways. FiftyCrows will offer hands-on information to assist you in taking action to speak out against this senseless destruction in Sudan. See this exhibition out of respect for humanity, in reverance for the people whose lives have been lost, or are in the balance. Truly seeing, is the first step in positive change.

Birdmen
By photographer Zak Waters, UK

Currently showing at the San Francisco International Airport Museums

Zak WatersAn enchanting essay, Birdmen is an insight into the diminishing world of Pigeon Racing in the UK and a documentation of the lives of the men who take such pride in their sport; men who are most often faced with a number of economic hardships brought upon them when their industries collapsed around them. The Birdmen find their pleasure and solace in breeding and racing their pigeons. They love the camaraderie amongst other dwindling Birdmen throughout the UK and most importantly they love their birds. Their birds provide a form of escapism from their normal day to day lives.

The Birdmen are the last of a working class breed, through which you can chart not only the decline of industry but a change in community life that is becoming lost forever.

This exhibition is available to rent from FiftyCrows. Inquire by calling FiftyCrows at 415-391-6300.
